Do you want to apply to become a Queen’s Nurse?
Applicants have until later this month to apply to become a Queen’s Nurse this year.
Queen’s Nurses serve as leaders and role models in community nursing and are recognised as people who are committed to high standards of practice and person-centred care.
People who want to apply must be currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and have a minimum of working five years in a community or primary care setting.
They should also be currently working in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man with people in their own homes or other community-based settings including education.
You must have support from your direct line manager who has managed you for at least six months or senior colleague at the same seniority as the current line manager.
In addition, you must have support from your professional/clinical lead who has worked with you for at least six months.
Applicants must also not be under investigation by the NMC, not be under investigation by your employing organisation and not be the subject of any disciplinary proceedings.
