An exciting opportunity has become available for a band 8A District Nursing Service Lead Post.

This DistrictNursingServiceLeadposition replaces the Deputy Matron post. This new post is expanding theDistrictNurseServiceLeadership Team and is an exciting opportunity for an individual to work alongside the existing twoDistrictNurseServiceLeads toLead, manage and develop theservice.

CommunityServices are currently undergoing significant change in the delivery of communityservices to continuously improve patient care and outcomes, meet workforce demands, prevent inappropriate hospital admissions, and facilitate early discharge. The successful candidate will work with their Nursingleads to maintain capacity across communityservices to help achieve this. The post holder will work closely with the Community NursingServicesLeadto ensure theserviceis working in line with theservicelevel agreements, Performance is achieved in terms of CQUINs, KPIs, Finance, HR, Risk and Governance.

The post holder will have extensive experience and knowledge in managing clinical governance including incidents, risk registers and audits.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead the District Nursing Teams, being the first point of contact both from an internal and external perspective. You will be responsible for a wide range of general and operational management issues aimed at managing health economy flow and supporting "home first". This will be achieved through close liaison with General Practice, CommunityLeadfor AHP and NursingServices,NursePractitioners, Allied Health Professionals, ICTs, etc.

The post-holder will have the following key objectives:

  • ToleadtheDistrictNursingServiceand its clinical capacity to maintain flow.

  • To support the achievement of corporate targets.

  • To play a key role in the economy escalation processes.

  • To provide effective accountableleadership, clinical and operational support.

  • Ensure effectiveserviceprovision in line with operational requirements.
