Deputy District Nursing Team Leader (Band 6)

Working hours of the team are between 8am and 8pm daily.
The shift patterns include 8am - 8pm, 8am -4pm, 8.30am - 4.30pm and 12pm - 8pm.
A successful applicant will be also expected to work some weekends and bank holidays as our service runs every day of the year.
The successful applicant must have a full UK driving license and willing to use their own vehicle as well as the three fleet vehicles to travel between patients.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Our team is based in Glan Irfon Health Care centre in Builth wells. We have our own office, and we also have another office in Rhayader.

Main responsibilities
Please see details of the role within the job description. However, we are looking for a deputy team leader who is willing to work with the team in moving forward with the changes in District Nursing.
A positive, proactive, good communicator and empathetic approach is required to ensure we can meet new challenges ahead such as starting a leg club, prioritising district nursing care, utilising electronic systems such as WCCIS, EMIS and Malinko.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic district nurse who will embrace the challenges of leading and developing a community nursing team, supporting and deputising for the team leader.

Knowledge, Training Experience
Essential criteria
Live registration with the NMC as registered nurse
Degree in Nursing or health related subject
Post registration District Nursing Qualification (BSC in relevant subject) or working towards
Experience of proactive caseload management of wide range of patients including those with Chronic Conditions
Desirable criteria
4 years experience as community nurse
Technical skills
Essential criteria
Ability to use computer systems to a well developed level( email, word processing, spreadsheets, WCCIS)
Significant clinical experience in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for the patient group of the caseload
Communication skills
Essential criteria
Well developed verbal and written communication skills
Effective multi agency team player, including the ability to engage positively with carers.
Skills,abilities, knowledge
Essential criteria
Knowledge and skills to manage patients with complex needs
Knowledge of current Nursing issues within NHS care systems.
High level of knowledge of NMC code of conduct and professional standards/guidance
Proven ability to work under time constraints
