QNI releases position statement on nursing associates in community nursing settings

The Queen’s Nursing Institute has published a position statement on the issue of the safe and effective deployment of Nursing Associates in community nursing settings.

The organisation has drawn up the statement following the commissioning of educational courses which are shared and delivered conjointly for Registered Nurses (RNs) and Nursing Associates.

The QNI said it is very concerned about growing ‘inappropriate deployment of Nursing Associates as a substitution for RNs, which is suggested by job advertisements’.
