Sanofi announced as ‘gold’ Hypo Awareness Week sponsor

Sanofi Healthcare, a leading global healthcare company, has been announced as the gold sponsor for Hypo Awareness Week 2024 – set to raise crucial awareness about hypoglycaemia in hospitals and primary care settings across the UK.

Taking place from October 7 to 13, Hypo Awareness Week is an annual event which provides a platform for the diabetes community to launch local campaigns aimed at educating healthcare professionals about the signs, symptoms, and treatment of hypoglycaemia.

This year, the campaign is inspired by the Olympics, encouraging healthcare professionals to become champions by learning to spot the symptoms, identify the signs, and administer the appropriate treatments for hypoglycaemia.

Building on the success of last year’s campaign, which saw a record 500 healthcare sites participating, Sanofi's sponsorship continues to play a pivotal role in elevating awareness of hypoglycaemia and addressing the challenges faced in UK and Ireland healthcare settings. Sanofi has been a sponsor of Hypo Awareness Week since 2016.

Emily Mayhew, event manager, highlighted the significance of the week: “Hypo Awareness Week is an important opportunity for nurses, doctors, and other healthcare staff to come together and strengthen their knowledge and understanding.

“With over 400 sites already registered, early sign-up is encouraged for the campaign to ensure access to the comprehensive resources.”

Hypo Awareness Week is open to all healthcare professionals working in diabetes care and aims to enhance the management and safety of patients through improved education and awareness.
