RCN Awards to celebrate inspirational forum colleagues

RCN Awards to celebrate inspirational forum colleagues

Two new categories have been introduced in the RCN Awards.

The Forum Member of the Year award is to recognise members who have supported forum projects and activities and whose impact has inspired and motivated colleagues to engage positively with the RCN through forum activities.

The Forum Committee Member of the Year is to recognise those who have provided leadership and injected energy into the forum itself and who have displayed exceptional skills and commitment to the committee member role.

RCN forums are groups of members who work, or have an interest, in a particular area of professional nursing practice.

Forums are free to join and enable members to stay abreast of developments in their field, contribute to consultations, create new resources, network and represent the specialty.

Forum committees are made up of appointed members, who volunteer their time to lead the forums.

RCN President Sheilabye Sobrany said: “We need your help to identify our nursing colleagues in the forums who have made a big impact this year.

“Do you know a forum member who has made a difference? Celebrate their achievements by nominating them for these awards.

“An integral part of living our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion means that the RCN Awards should celebrate and reflect the diversity of all of our membership and the communities they serve.”

Awards nominations are welcomed and encouraged on behalf of everyone who meets the eligibility criteria, to be received by 4.30pm on Tuesday 28 March.

The awards will be presented on 14 May as part of the awards ceremony at RCN Congress 2023 in Brighton.
