Nurses go up three hills and come down with a mountain of cash

A team of intrepid Oxford Health school nurses took on and completed one of the country’s toughest challenges to raise money for the Young Minds charity.

Earlier this month, a group of nurses from the Central School Health Nursing team attempted the Welsh Three Peaks challenge- climbing Pen-y-Fan, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and Cader Idris.

And, despite the aches, strains, blisters and unhelpful weather, they reached the trio of summits in just 48 hours raising a mountainous £2,615!

Tikki Harrold, who trudged and trekked with eight colleagues, said: “Since the pandemic the numbers seeking support for their mental wellbeing has significantly increased and we wanted to do something to raise money for a charity that provides support to them and their families.

“We chose the Three Peaks as the challenge of overcoming something that feels insurmountable feels fitting and anyone reading this can still help by sponsoring us here.”
