Breast Cancer Now calls on healthcare professionals to complete survey

A UK charity providing world-class research and life-changing support for people affected by breast cancer has launched a new survey for healthcare professionals.

Breast Cancer Now is calling on healthcare professionals who work with breast cancer patients to share their experiences by completing the charity’s online survey.

The insight gathered from the survey will help the charity better understand any further areas of support that these healthcare professionals may currently lack but feel they need, and as importantly what format they want this in, be it written information, training, education or support services.

The charity’s ambition is that by 2050 everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live and be supported to live well and supporting healthcare professionals is a key step in striving to make this a reality.

The survey launches at a time when the NHS is under immense and growing pressures.

Despite the tireless work of NHS staff, workforce shortfalls mean patients are being denied the best chances of early diagnosis and timely access to life-changing treatments.

Now is a critical time for the charity to amplify the voice of the UK’s healthcare professionals, listen to their needs and act on ensuring these are met.

Daisy Naughton, healthcare professional engagement manager at Breast Cancer Now, said: “Healthcare professionals in the UK are under more pressure now than ever, and we urgently need to understand the key challenges they’re facing right now so that we provide support that meets their needs.

“The last thing we want to do is add to their workload. That said, we also know that hearing first hand from them what it’s like working in healthcare right now is the vital first step from which we can identify and develop the support they need.

“Doing this is in turn critical to ensuring anyone with breast cancer receives the prompt diagnosis, and treatment and care they deserve.

“This is why we’re calling on all healthcare professionals in the UK working with breast cancer patients to please complete our online survey now.”

Please complete the survey ahead of the deadline at 11.45pm on Friday, June 16.
