ADNE reveals line-up for annual conference

An organisation that is committed to raising the profile of nursing in the community to improve care has unveiled the agenda for its next annual conference.

The Association of District Nurse & Community Nurse Educators (ADNE) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation that provides resources for UK District Nurse Students, Practice Supervisors, Practice Assessors, Academic Assessors and University Lecturers through newsletters, a website and regular events and conferences.

It also works in partnership with other organisations and policy makers to develop the role of the Specialist Practitioner in district and community nursing.

Next month, it will host its annual free online conference which this year will focus on ‘The Future District and Community Nursing Workforce’.

ADNE Chair Mark Millar said: “We’re very proud to share details of this year’s conference which will feature top academics and prestigious speakers from a variety of organisations including NHS England, The Queen’s Nursing Institute, The Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland, The King’s Fund and a number of leading NHS trusts.

“They will be speaking about a wide variety of topics including how technology and innovation is enabling tomorrow’s workforce, the benefits to patient care of introducing independent prescribing in remote and rural locations, and opportunities in the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan for Community and District Nurse development.

“We’ve already had a lot of registrations for the event, and we’d strongly encourage anyone who is interested in the future district and community nursing workforce to attend.”

The event is open to members and non-members of ADNE and will take place from 9.30am to 4pm on Thursday, November 9.
