Overnight Nursing Services

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 developmental Specialist Community Nurse to join our team in Salisbury, 30hrs per week.

Here at Wiltshire Health and Care we are very excited to announce the development and expansion of our community services in line with the NHS Long Term Plan and a number of strategic priorities for community health services to transform our out of hospital care.

We are boosting the response capacity within the existing community teams to provide a dedicated resource across each of our localities within Wiltshire.

This growth within our services incorporates a consistent 2 hour crisis response element to our community services with appropriate skill mix of staff to support our current services across 12 hours (08:00 to 20:00) 7 days a week. We are also extending our services to provide nursing cover 24/7 in the community by developing an overnight element which will provide a much needed service to our patients across Wiltshire.

Main duties of the job

This opportunity is to help develop our service are based in Salisbury, covering the South of Wiltshire.

Working for us will provide you with the opportunity to be part of an experienced team, working in a busy environment enabling you to further develop your skills and experience. We are looking for qualified SPQ registered nurses, or experienced band 5 nurses who are ready for their next step, willing to work towards the SPQ qualification in well supported, friendly teams.

You will be a strong team player, excellent communicator who is adaptable, committed, organised and able to work under pressure. You will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of high quality safe and sustainable clinical and operational leadership under the direction of the team managers and clinical lead.

The work will be highly rewarding, the successful applicant providing effective nursing interventions in patients homes and other community settings, supporting the prevention of hospital admissions and working with the 2 hour crisis response service. We work closely with the wider multi-Disciplinary team including our therapists and both Primary and Social Care. The role is varied and interesting, providing support to many patients with complex needs with a timely response to unplanned referrals.
