Job summary

If successful, such candidates would be appointed at Band 6 and would progress to a Band 7 post once they have completed Community Practice Teacher/ Practice Educator qualification.
We are looking for Community Practice Teacher who is passionate about nursing education & development to join the Barnsley Neighbourhood Nursing Service.
The service is responsible for delivering nursing care which includes wound management, chronic disease management, promotion of self-care, administration of IVs & terminal/palliative care.
The role will involve holding a caseload within one of our 6 neighbourhoods, managing & working alongside the team to support the District Nurse Team Leader, ensuring training & education needs are met & new starters/established staff are supported.
Main duties of the job
As Community Practice Teacher District Nursing you will:
Be responsible for the education, facilitation & management of District Nursing students, their learning environment, experience, assessment of practice & verification of competence
Have resilience & great leadership potential
Have ability to inspire people & able to motivate/support others through change to maintain the delivery of proactive & safe care
Demonstrate mentoring skills while encouraging implementation of innovative practice
Have high level communication/interpersonal skills to negotiate & establish collaborative partnerships with patients & care professionals
Have a key role in training, education & staff development, actively participate in regular supervision & appraisals contributing to clinical leadership facilitating a culture of learning/reflective practice
Have a flexible approach to working long days, weekends, bank holidays
